A basic polypeptide isolated from streptomyces netropsis. It has antibacterial and antiviral properties, and is used as a tool in the study of nucleic acids due to its strong, specific binding to the a-t areas of DNA.

Pharmacological action: antibiotics, peptide, antiviral agents.
