nephroma, mesoblasticmedical dictionary

A malignant tumour of the kidney characterised by spindled myofibroblastic cells arranged in sheets or bundles with a tendency to infiltrate into the adjoining normal kidney and through the capsule into the perirenal tissues. While it appears on gross examination to be circumscribed, partial excision is usually unsuccessful and total removal is recommended.
