A disorder of trigeminal nerve (cranial nerve V) dysfunction. Also called tic douloureux. Characterised by excruciating paroxysms of pain in the lips, gums, cheek or chin, and, very rarely, in the distribution of the eye (ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve).
