<botany> A leguminous shrub (Sesbania aculeata) which furnishes a fibre used for making ropes.
The name is applied also to the similar plant, Sesbania aegyptiaca, and other species of the same genus.
Origin: F, fr. Ar. Saisaban, seiseban, a kind of tree, fr. Per. Sisaban seed of cinquefoil.
