1. A combining form or prefix meaning small, little, trivial, slight; as, microcosm, microscope. A millionth part of; as, microfarad, microohm, micrometer.
2. <physics> Metric prefix indicating 1/1,000,000th of a given quantity. For example, a microampere is 1/1,000,000th of an ampere.
