<plant biology> Tissue found in the interior of leaves, made up of photosynthetic (parenchyma) cells, also called chlorenchyma cells.
Consists of relatively large, highly vacuolated cells, with many chloroplasts. Includes palisade parenchyma and spongy mesophyll.
