Malhighian capsules or corpuscles, the globular dilatations, containing the glomeruli or Malpighian tufts, at the extremities of the urinary tubules of the kidney. Malpighian corpuscles of the spleen, masses of adenoid tissue connected with branches of the splenic artery.

One of the tubular or hairlike excretory organs arising from the midgut-hindgut junction of many arthropods. Two to several hundred such tubules may be present. They collect waste from the body fluids and discharge them into the hindgut. Malpighian refers to the italian anatomist marcello malpighi, 1628-1694.

An Italian anatomist, histologist, and embryologist.
An Was Professor of Medicine in Bologna and from there went in 1662 to Messina, returning to Bologna in 1661 demonstrated the structure of the lungs. Has been named the "founder of microscopical anatomy".
Malpighi's Layer - deep layer of the epidermis. Opera omnia. London. 1686. Other structures are named eponymously after Malpighi by various authors.
