<chemical>
4-(p-chlorophenyl)-4-hydroxy-n.n-dimethyl-alpha,alpha-diphenyl-1-piperidine butyramide hydrochloride. Synthetic anti-diarrhoeal agent with a long duration of action; it is not significantly absorbed from the gut, has no effect on the adrenergic system or central nervous system, but may antagonise histamine and interfere with acetylcholine release locally.
Pharmacological action: antidiarrhoeals.
