kilowatt-hourmedical dictionary


A standard measure of electrical energy, equals one kilowatt of power delivered for one hour. Equivalent to 3.6 million joules.

For example, 1 kWh will light a 100-watt light bulb for 10 hours. 1 kWh = 3,413 Btu.
