<quality assurance> Equity is the concern for fairness and development of a state of impartiality and fairness such that assessments are free from bias or favouritism.

All students irrespective of gender, race, religion, disability should have equal access to a high-quality education and the services they need in order to benefit from that education.

An assessment that is fair enables all children to show what they can do. At minimum, all assessments should be reviewed for; stereotypes, situations that may favour one culture over another, excessive language demands that prevent some students from showing their knowledge, and the assessment's potential to include students with disabilities or limited English proficiency.
