7-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-1,3-dimethylxanthine. A theophylline derivative with broncho- and vasodilator properties. It is used in the treatment of asthma, cardiac dyspnoea, and bronchitis.

Pharmacological action: bronchodilator agents, phosphodiesterase inhibitors, vasodilator agents.
