Extravasation of plasma fluid and proteins into the extravascular space, resulting in sometimes fatal hypotension and reduced oxygen perfusion. Clinical capillary leak syndrome is observed in patients who demonstrate a state of generalised leaky capillaries following shock syndromes, low-flow states, ischaemia-reperfusion injuries, toxaemias, or poisoning. It can lead to generalised oedema and multiple organ failure., reperfusion injuries and clinical capillary leak syndrome.
