Batrachotoxin is the 20-alpha-bromobenzoate of batrachotoxin a; they are toxins from the venom of a small colombian frog, phyllobates aurotaenia, cause release of acetylcholine, destruction of synaptic vesicles and depolarisation of nerve and muscle fibres.
