<orthopaedics, rheumatology> This disorder results from any conditions that enforce prolonged immobility of the shoulder joint.
The shoulder is painful and tender to palpation. There is marked restriction of passive and active range of motion.
Physical therapy and corticosteroid injections may be helpful in some cases. Surgery will be required for more advanced cases.
