A lymphoproliferative disorder characterised by generalised lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, fever, sweats, weight loss, skin lesions, and pruritus with hypergammaglobulinaemia; occurs primarily in older adults, often with fatal outcome. Proliferation of B-cells, deficiency of T-cells has been demonstrated.
Synonyms: immunoblastic lymphadenopathy.
