Congenital deficiency of adrenocortical, and possibly ovarian, steroid C-17a hydroxylase; the resulting excessive secretion of corticosterone and deoxycorticosterone produces hypertension and hypokalaemic alkalosis; absence of aldosterone secretion in such patients may indicate a multiple enzymic deficiency.
